The Studio
was founded as Hutt City Dance Centre in the 1970's by Lynn and Art Noanoa, run alongside their daughter Amber.
The name The Studio was created in 2018, and in 2021 the business was sold to sisters Kate and Hannah Isberg. In 2025, Hannah stepped away to focus on her growing family, and The Studio is now run solely by myself, Kate Isberg.
Dancing since I was four years old, I am trained in jazz, hiphop, lyrical and contemporary. I began teaching at HCDC in 2012, and continued until 2017, when I was accepted into a performing arts college in California.
There, I studied dance, drama, and vocals; took part in local outreach tours; and performed in large scale professional Christmas and tribute shows. I auditioned for and was accepted onto 6 global tours where I company-managed casts of 40 performers, taught thousands of youth and adults, and connected through dance all over the world - my favourite place being Japan!
After returning to NZ in 2020 due to Covid, I resumed teaching at The Studio before taking over the business in 2021.
Having grown up with dance, I know just how much joy it can bring. The memories, confidence, performances, and friendships I've gained are so special to me, and I hope to be an outlet for my students to experience this as well.
I have a huge passion for how dance can make you feel, and I strive to create positive and inclusive environments for everybody.
I love to teach, I love to have fun, and more than anything - I LOVE to dance.
